VISITING & ACCESSIBILITY

How long do I need?

We recommend you allow at least 2 hours for your visit. Allow 3 hours if having refreshments or visiting our 4D Theatre.

Dogs Welcome

Dogs are welcome in the park and gift shop but must be kept on a short lead (They cannot go into the cafe or 4D Theatre). Please come prepared for any 'doggy doos'.

Car parking

There is a local authority owned car park adjacent to the Model Village.

Wheelchair User and Disability Access

Extensive alterations have been undertaken to ensure that most of the village is accessible for wheelchair users. However, the Model Village is built in a steep natural valley. On entering and leaving the park there are very steep slopes and 11 widely spaced steps. Once down in the gardens it is relatively level with good paths. Manual wheelchair users are able to visit provided there is the help of at least one strong and physically fit assistant and plenty of time is allowed. Due to the steep slopes the use of an electric wheelchair is not possible for safety reasons. The walk around is about 1 km (0.6m). To avoid causing possible offence we cannot judge individual abilities, if uncertain let us know - you are welcome to have a look first, or if you buy tickets and then experience difficulties we are happy to offer a refund within a reasonable time frame.
